Role Summary

The Patient Services Strategy Franchise Director, Immunology- Rheumatology develops and leads AbbVie Patient Services patient support strategies across the Immunology-Rheumatology portfolio for current and future pipeline products. The role directs strategy for above-brand, franchise programs, collaborates with Patient Services leadership and cross-functional partners, and supports annual financial and long-range planning for franchise patient support programs.

Responsibilities

  • Owns all aspects of the development and execution of patient support programs and required resources for the Immunology-Rheumatology franchise; defines strategy, care model performance and associated KPIs
  • Leads integrated Patient Services team in the development of US Patient Services Solution Strategies for Immunology-Rheumatology brands and leads care model team meetings to assess program effectiveness and improve patient outcomes
  • Drives patient support strategy, overseeing AbbVie investment to enable access and adherence to therapies
  • Designs and optimizes fit-for-purpose patient support program ecosystems to support brand imperatives
  • Establishes commercial priorities with Integrated Brand Team and communicates business impact of patient support programs to executive management and internal partners
  • Interfaces with other Patient Services teams and brand partners to ensure programs meet patient/provider needs
  • Promotes accountability for performance across functions and provides updates to senior leadership on program performance
  • Tracks brand needs, economics, strategies, timelines, and priorities, staying informed on franchise and patient trends
  • Develops and executes the patient care model and resources to ensure optimal outcomes and performance for the assigned franchise
  • Delivers patient care model performance through cross-functional coordination and resource prioritization across APS for all brands in the franchise
  • Ensures effective financial planning, resourcing, and prioritization of franchise initiatives with strong budgetary controls
  • Owns escalation and decision-making for delivery risks or resourcing conflicts, acting as accountable franchise leader
  • Demonstrates experience with stakeholder and people management; maintains extensive executive presence

Qualifications

  • Bachelorβ€šΓ„Γ΄s degree or equivalent; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in healthcare
  • 12+ years of experience at a pharmaceutical company in strategy and execution roles
  • Strong enterprise thinking, strategic planning, and financial acumen with a data-driven mindset
  • Extensive cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management experience
  • Experience in portfolio strategy, identifying opportunities and guiding decision-making at scale
  • Operational track record as a brand/portfolio leader with understanding of business strategy, cross-functional leadership, and project management
  • Experience with commercial and therapeutic area priorities and managing multiple business cycles
  • Knowledge of functions such as strategy, marketing, access & reimbursement, APS operations, patient engagement, quality & compliance
  • Ability to navigate a heavily matrixed environment and build influential relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to anticipate changes in patient access and care models and implement strategic changes
  • Ability to simplify complex topics, prioritize, and develop actionable strategies; resilient and adaptable
  • Strong financial acumen; effective translator of business initiatives to economic/financial indicators
  • Balanced focus on strategic and operational activities; capable of resolving stakeholder conflicts and seeking win-win outcomes
