Purpose: Own end-to-end delivery of applications supporting the R&D Quality portfolio—from problem identification through production deployment, adoption, and sustained value realization—and build a team of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to do the same in a GxP-regulated environment using Computer System Validation (CSV) to accelerate compliant outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own full lifecycle of an assigned portfolio of quality data and computer system assets (concept/requirements → deployment → adoption → sustained outcomes).
- Author product/system requirements; translate business problems into technical specs; define measurable success criteria.
- Hands-on practitioner: review code, evaluate architecture decisions, quality-check work, direct delivery resources.
- Apply CSV/GSOP-1201 to shape validation strategy.
- Build and coach FDE team; grow technical talent pipeline.
- Track and report value realization metrics; accountable to Results Management Office.
- Partner with Tech@Lilly, BQA, and CSQA for enterprise alignment and asset sustainability.
- Own user enablement, adoption strategy, and change management coordination (success = adoption/business outcomes).
- Escalate/manages complex issues; represent the FDE function in cross-functional forums.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS+ in CS/data analysis/analytics/informatics/life sciences/engineering or related.
- 5+ years in data sciences, product development, computer system delivery, or quality in pharma/biotech; 2+ years in leadership/senior technical capacity.
Additional Preferences (selected skills):
- End-to-end product/capability ownership; hands-on coding and data architecture fluency.
- Working knowledge of CSA/CSV/GxP/GAMP5; AI/ML governance in regulated settings.
- Delivering LLM-based solutions with measurable impact; coaching junior staff.
- Python; Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps/BI/Automate); change management/user adoption; Agile/product management.
- Strong communication; pharma R&D quality experience.
Additional Information:
- 10% travel; onsite in Indianapolis, IN (not remote).
- Anticipated base pay: $126,000–$204,600; eligible for company bonus and comprehensive benefits (401(k), medical/dental/vision, flexible benefits, life insurance, time off/leave, well-being).
