Formulation Technician

Role: Formulation Technician supporting fuel analysis and quality assurance at Inotiv. Responsibilities: perform and document tests including Research Octane Number, Motor Octane Number, boiling points, fuel distillation, flash point, and ethanol content; analyze gasoline, kerosene, and diesel samples; calculate dilution factors, remediate fuel cross-contamination, and ensure regulatory compliance; work safely with hazardous chemicals and follow SOPs. Requirements: Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Biology, or related field; 12 months experience in a regulated industry, with at least 6 months in fuel analysis including ASTM methods D86 and D56, and ethanol testing; experience with hazardous materials safety and review of SDS. High-Value: fuel quality testing, ASTM standards, ethanol analysis in gasoline blends, regulated environmental/chemical testing, hazardous materials handling.
