Role Summary
The Finance Manager acts as a trusted advisor to Commercial leadership, delivering financial insights, anticipating challenges, and shaping strategic decisions across a diverse geography spanning Canada, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. This role provides exposure to senior management and the opportunity to drive meaningful impact across multiple markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead integration of financial forecasts (Plan, LBE, LRP) from affiliates, ensuring assumptions and submissions are robust, consistent, and aligned with International HQ and Global Commercial Finance.
- Analyze financial trends, validate drivers, and challenge inputs to enhance forecast accuracy. Deliver scenario analysis and ad-hoc forecasts to support business initiatives and commercial priorities.
- Oversee Intercontinental HQ budget planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Coordinate submissions for SOX, headcount, and capital reporting, ensuring compliance with global requirements.
- Support capital investment requests from affiliates as needed, ensuring alignment with governance standards.
- Manage financial reporting for total Intercontinental Medical spend.
- Track spending for clinical studies and projects, ensuring proper monitoring and transparency.
- Prepare narratives and reporting packages for medical leadership and ad-hoc project support.
- Serve as lead for planning tool governance, ensuring changes, enhancements, and UATs are properly executed.
- Partner with BSG/BPC to ensure system readiness and scenario availability.
- Provide support to affiliates on planning system queries and reporting processes.
- Drive flash and actuals reporting processes across the Area.
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and variance analyses with clear, actionable commentary.
- Deliver insights and communicate results effectively to Intercontinental leadership, International Therapeutics, and Global Commercial Finance.
- Contribute to Area-wide projects and pan-TA analytics.
- Lead ad-hoc strategic initiatives with cross-functional impact.
- Support business partners with advanced analysis to inform decision making.
- Oversee and support the professional development, performance management, and daily work of their direct report.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in FP&A or Commercial Finance within the Pharma/Medical Device industry.
- Proven success in multinational, matrix organizations.
- Strong technical expertise in SAP BPC and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, including macros, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Power BI is an advantage.
