Role Summary

Finance Manager, Technical Accounting — located in New Brunswick, NJ. Advises on U.S. GAAP and Johnson & Johnson’s worldwide policies related to financial accounting and reporting; prepares training materials for the finance function; supports special GTAAS projects including new accounting standards implementations and policy updates.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on accounting and reporting questions from business leaders and finance teams across all sectors to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Prepare quarterly transmittal letters, incorporating policy changes and clearly describing them.
  • Deliver training and education throughout the finance organization on accounting and reporting updates.
  • Assist with special projects outside core responsibilities, including accounting for acquisitions, assisting with divestitures (carve-out accounting), and evaluating internal control design.
  • Monitor emerging accounting and regulatory developments (e.g., FASB and SEC) and assist in implementing new standards.
  • Mentor and develop GTAAS team members, fostering learning, inclusion, and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA license (in good standing)
  • 5+ years of accounting, external financial reporting, financial controls, or auditing experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple projects in high-pressure situations
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage work processes
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with ability to prepare technical accounting memorandums and articulate accounting to others
