Role Summary
The Finance Business Partner โ US General Medicines serves as the strategic financial advisor to the US General Medicines organizations, driving financial strategy, optimizing investments, enabling sustainable growth, and delivering financial commitments. The role partners across a matrix of functions including Marketing, Market Access, Global Finance, Supply Chain, and Patient Services, and leverages digital tools to deliver timely, insightful financial information.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Serve as the primary finance partner for the US General Medicines franchises, guiding strategic business decisions to achieve Sales, Margin and BOI objectives; provide thought leadership and financial oversight across commercial activities for value optimization and risk management; align financial and business strategies by partnering with key stakeholders to evaluate investment trade-offs and performance drivers.
- Business Operations & Forecasting: Oversee routine financial operations of the portfolio (sales, margin, resource deployment, inventory, and general financial performance); lead budgeting and monthly rolling forecasts and support long-range planning; champion full deployment of AI forecasting; anticipate and assess financial impact of business decisions across the full P&L.
- Performance Management & Reporting: Develop and deliver timely financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance commentary; drive monthly sales trend analysis with Commercial, Forecasting, and Data Analytics teams; support Gross-to-Net management, including guidance on contracting and pricing actions, interpreting balance sheet provisions, pricing risk assessments, and impact of market/policy changes; own quarterly reporting, performance landing, and IR preparation for the franchises.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Excellence: Collaborate with Commercial, Market Access, Patient Services, Supply Chain, Business Operations, Hubs, and Global Franchises to align priorities and anticipate financial implications; promote finance best practices with One-Finance to drive continuous improvement and efficiency; support finance system enhancements and lead digital transformation initiatives to modernize planning and reporting.
Qualifications
About You
Required
- 10 years of progressive business finance experience with a strong business partnership background
- Bachelorโs degree in accounting or finance or relevant discipline
- AI and digital-first mindset
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Exceptional communication skills capable of translating financial planning and performance information into actionable business insights
Preferred
- MBA, MS or relevant advanced degree
- CMA, CPA, CGMA, or relevant professional designation
- Pharma or biotech industry experience, especially with gross-to-net management
- Ability to travel up to 10%
