Position Summary
- Finance & Accounting Business Analyst (BA) supporting global ERP + MES transformation strategy, with focus on capex initiatives and multi-ERP integration.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and IT to define, standardize, and enable financial processes across systems while transitioning to a future-state D365 platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Process Analysis (Finance & Accounting):
- Elicit, document, and validate requirements across Record to Report (R2R), Procure to Pay (P2P), Fixed Assets & capitalization, and project accounting (capex tracking).
- Facilitate workshops across business units and ERP platforms to define current-state and future-state processes.
- Create process maps (including cross-system flows), BRDs, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Capex & Financial Transformation (Primary Focus):
- Support ERP enablement of capital investment initiatives across a 5-year transformation roadmap.
- Define/document requirements for capital project planning, tracking, and budgeting; asset capitalization and lifecycle management; cost allocation and financial controls across systems.
- Partner with Finance leadership for compliance with accounting policies, audit standards, and reporting requirements.
- Enable consistent ROI tracking and financial visibility for major investments.
- Multi-ERP & Integration Support:
- Define system roles/responsibilities (system of record) and cross-system financial process flows across D365, AX 2012, and legacy ERPs.
- Document/support integration requirements for financial data synchronization (GL, AP/AR, assets), intercompany transactions, and inventory/cost accounting flows.
- Collaborate with solution/technical architects on scalable integration design.
- ERP Implementation & Transition Support:
- Support fit/gap analysis across ERP platforms.
- Translate requirements into functional designs for current-state (AX/legacy) and future-state (D365).
- Support data migration/harmonization (chart of accounts alignment, financial master data standardization, historical data considerations) and phased transitions/coexistence strategies.
- Testing & Deployment:
- Lead/coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT); develop end-to-end test scenarios spanning multiple ERPs.
- Validate financial integrity and reconciliation across integrations; support issue triage, defect resolution, and go-live readiness.
- Assist with cutover planning, including financial data validation and reconciliation.
- Change Management & Standardization:
- Drive adoption of standardized financial processes across acquired entities.
- Support training and change management for Finance/Accounting.
- Liaison between Finance stakeholders and IT throughout transformation/stabilization.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years as a Business Analyst in Finance, Accounting, or ERP environments.
- Strong understanding of R2R (financial close and reporting), P2P/expense management, and fixed assets/capitalization.
- Experience with multiple ERP systems (e.g., D365, AX 2012, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Experience supporting ERP transformations, integrations, or system transitions.
- Experience with capex projects or project accounting.
- Proven ability to document cross-system business processes and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and D365 Finance & Operations.
- Experience in ERP consolidation or post-acquisition integration environments.
- Familiarity with financial data models and system integration patterns; inventory and cost accounting in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (backlog and user story management) and Power BI (financial reporting/analytics).
- Experience in multi-entity, global organizations.
