Position Summary
Entry level field technician to service protein analysis instrumentation. Territory: greater Washington D.C. and Maryland region; occasional support across North America. Up to 50% travel required.

Key Responsibilities
- Customer and Instrument Support: Install, qualify, and perform preventive maintenance on complex electro-mechanical scientific instruments in a laboratory environment; communicate effectively with customers; prepare samples for instrument testing; follow service protocols with cGMP documentation requirements.
- Schedule, Administration and Inventory Management: Schedule customer appointments; submit timely service reports; enter data accurately into CRM; maintain monthly expenses and mileage logs; manage personal field inventory.
- Support of Sales, Field Applications and Technical Support Teams: Assist with pre- and post-sales inquiries and tasks.

Education and Experience
- Associate degree in engineering or science + 1 year field service experience in a life science/biotech/medical industry
OR completion of military electrical technical training + 1 year relevant field service experience
OR at least 3 years field service experience in a life science/biotech/medical industry.

Qualifications / Skills
- Strong computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook); Salesforce experience a plus.
- Laboratory experience preferred; basic lab skills including BSL2/BSL3 experience.
- Professional demeanor, strong customer service, excellent written/verbal communication, attention to detail, time management, interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to lift/carry tools, parts, and instruments up to 50 lbs.
