Position Summary
- Entry level field technician to service protein analysis instrumentation. Territory: greater Washington D.C. and Maryland region; may occasionally support customers across North America. Up to 50% travel could be required.
- Salary range: $70,000–$80,000 (based on experience, education, skills, and abilities). Target annual cash bonus eligible based on individual and company performance (per company policy).

Key Responsibilities
- Customer and Instrument Support: Install, qualify, and perform preventive maintenance on complex electro-mechanical scientific instruments in a laboratory environment; maintain customer communication; prepare samples for instrument testing; follow service protocols meeting cGMP documentation requirements. Field-based role with regional/national travel.
- Schedule, Administration and Inventory Management: Manage and schedule customer appointments; submit service reports to clients; enter accurate service data into CRM; maintain monthly expenses and mileage logs; manage personal field inventory.
- Support Sales, Field Applications and Technical Support Teams: Assist with pre- and post-sales inquiries and tasks.

Education and Experience
- Associate degree in engineering or science + 1 year field service experience in life science/biotech/medical OR military electrical technical training + 1 year field service experience OR 3+ years field service experience in life science/biotech/medical.

Required/Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook; Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Laboratory experience preferred.
- Professional demeanor/customer service; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Attention to detail, time management, interpersonal skills.
- Basic laboratory skills including BSL2 and BSL3 experience.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
- Ability to lift/carry tools, parts, and instruments up to 50 lbs.
