Field Service Engineer II

Role: Field Service Engineer II supporting Quanterix’s ultra-sensitive biomarker detection platforms (Simoa and Spatial Biology). Responsibilities: perform installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer training; evaluate issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with internal teams; manage regional service workload independently; maintain documentation and inventory; develop platform expertise and support customer success. Requirements: associate’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience; 4+ years supporting scientific or lab instrumentation; strong electromechanical, optical, or research equipment skills. Preferred: experience with microscopy, digital imaging, fluorescence, microfluidics, and CRM tools (Salesforce). High-value biopharma specifics: supporting diagnostics/research instruments enabling biomarker discovery and spatial tissue analysis, with focus on customer engagement in the Midwest and Canada; travel at least 70%, including overnight. Work setup: remote based in Chicago, IL, with regional travel.
