Role Summary

The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) role is to minimize reimbursement barriers for patients and providers and, therefore, optimize access to AstraZeneca products in the assigned therapeutic area. This purpose will be achieved by delivering consultations and interventions with key physicians and institutional customers through specialized services. FRMs will work closely with Managed Markets, Trade & Sales partners in the field, supporting targeted accounts in resolving reimbursement issues or concerns, developing ethical and customer-oriented reimbursement strategies, and proactively communicating payer criteria/terms and practices. Geography includes: WA, AK, MT, ID, WY

Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultations and interventions with key physicians and institutional customers to minimize reimbursement barriers
  • Collaborate with Managed Markets, Trade & Sales partners to resolve reimbursement issues and develop reimbursement strategies
  • Proactively communicate payer criteria, terms, and practices to customers and partners
  • Maintain territory planning, budgeting, and administrative responsibilities within assigned accounts
  • Lead and support territory business plans and progress with field partners and Sales
  • Identify reimbursement-specific opportunities or issues and educate partners on the payer landscape
  • Provide field-facing communications and ensure timely submission of budgetary information and required reports

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelors Degree
  • Required: Minimum of 5 years total business experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Required: Minimum of 2 or more years' sales, managed care or reimbursement experience
  • Preferred: MBA or other related graduate-level degree
  • Preferred: Two to four years of Biotech or Pharmaceutical Sales experience
  • Preferred: Two to four years of Managed Markets experience
  • Preferred: Infectious Disease, Respiratory, Inflammation, Autoimmune, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neuroscience experience
  • Preferred: Experience with business planning and market analysis
  • Preferred: Experience in implementing valuable programs and advisory programs

Education

  • Bachelors Degree
  • MBA or related graduate degree (preferred)

Additional Requirements

  • Spends majority of time visiting customer accounts in the field
  • Maintains knowledge of Managed Care and related benefit structures, reimbursement mechanisms, and regulatory influences
  • Must be able to travel as part of field responsibilities
