Key Responsibilities:
- Educate HCPs (including bio coordinators and/or office staff) on AbbVie patient support programs, including access and reimbursement tools and services.
- Educate on product acquisition options such as specialty pharmacy networks, specialty distribution, and white/brown/clear bagging.
- Educate resources and strategies to address patient access issues.
- Provide localized expertise on national/regional payer policies and utilization management criteria, including updates on medical billing and coding and medical benefit claims submission.
- Collaborate with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement Support Center to relay prescription status and program eligibility updates.
- Report payer trends for approved products to Patient Services and Market Access teams.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with providers in the assigned territory.
- Maintain current knowledge on managed care, reimbursement, and policy trends.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in immunology, or access and reimbursement experience with expertise in market access and payer account management.
- Expertise in drug acquisition and dispensing in specialty biologics (Buy and Bill, reimbursement analysis, Specialty Pharmacies/Distributors) (immunology preferred).
- Strong territory and strategic account management abilities.
- Proven leadership record.
- Functional knowledge of access and reimbursement support service centers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate coding/billing technical requirements nationally and regionally across Medicare Parts A, B, C and D.
- Understanding of rules/regulations and risks associated with reimbursement support services.
- Ability to build relationships and lead without authority.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Must drive personal auto/company vehicle or powered material handling equipment.
