Responsibilities:
- Analyze payer criteria and provide product access expertise to offices.
- Educate HCPs and their staff on access and coverage to facilitate appropriate patient access.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with the Hub on individual patient cases, including patient support services referrals to enrollment and overall coordination.
- Provide education to HCPs on Alnylam Assist enrollment (including supporting missing information) and minimize access barriers.
- Liaise with Specialty Pharmacy Liaisons for pharmacy benefit products.
- Educate HCPs on payer processes, procedures, and appeals requirements; explain benefit design coverage (Commercial, Medicare Part D, Medicaid).
- Answer coverage questions including ICD-10 codes and patient-specific access questions.
- Stay current on private/public payer coverage and changes impacting access.
- Educate HCPs and practice personnel on the Hub program (reimbursement, financial assistance, and tools such as provider portal, copay tracking, and forms).
- Provide resources/forms for access and reimbursement; demonstrate strong verbal communication and issue prioritization.
Requirements:
- BS/BA required, or 1.5+ years as a field reimbursement specialist, or 3+ years as a biologic coordinator/office practice manager.
- Experience navigating prior authorization for pharmacy and medical benefit coverage.
- Cardiology or Rare Disease preferred.
- Proven experience working with Hubs; in-depth knowledge of prior authorization/appeals across payer types.
- Knowledge of commercial payers, Medicare plans, and state Medicaid in the region.
- Valid driverβs license; ability to travel (including overnights/weekends).
