Position Summary
The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) removes access and reimbursement barriers so patients can start and stay on therapy without unnecessary delay. This role partners with healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, hospital systems, and internal stakeholders to navigate complex payer environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as reimbursement and access lead for the assigned territory to remove barriers to therapy initiation and continuation.
- Educate providers and office staff on payer coverage requirements, prior authorization/appeals, specialty pharmacy workflows, documentation standards, and reimbursement pathways (commercial and government).
- Coordinate across specialty pharmacies, case managers, hospital systems, and payers to resolve onboarding, coverage, and continuity-of-care challenges.
- Build relationships with neurologists, practice administrators, and institutional stakeholders to identify emerging access issues and develop territory-specific solutions.
- Provide payer insights, reimbursement trends, and real-time field feedback to Market Access, Patient Services, and Commercial leadership.
- Independently navigate novel/complex reimbursement scenarios using expertise in pharmacy benefit design, specialty distribution, and inpatient access coordination.
- Maintain compliant documentation of field activities and patient access trends in CRM/patient systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree and 5+ years in reimbursement, patient access, field access, or specialty pharmacy (biotech/specialty pharma/rare disease).
- Deep knowledge of commercial and government pharmacy benefits (Medicare Part D, Medicaid, prior auths, appeals, specialty pharmacy operations, limited distribution).
- Neurology/CNS practice experience preferred, including hospital systems and complex site-of-care coordination.
- Demonstrated success supporting specialty product launches and managing field territory reimbursement/coverage challenges.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills to establish credibility with physicians, office leadership, and specialty pharmacies.
