Field Reimbursement Manager, Advanced Parkinson's

This role is field-based. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Candidates may live in Hartford, CT; New Haven, CT; or Springfield, MA.
The Parkinson’s Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) is an alternative in-office resource available to address HCP questions about patient access and reimbursement in support of Duopa and Vyalev. The FRM calls directly on HCP offices in assigned geography to provide expertise on coverage and common access/reimbursement challenges. Responsibilities include educating on access and reimbursement support tools, advising HCPs on prescription status and program eligibility, and educating HCP offices on payer processes and procedures.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Educate HCPs on patient support programs, including access and reimbursement support tools and services
- Educate on product-specific acquisition and access options (specialty pharmacy networks and specialty distribution)
- Educate on resources available to address access issues
- Provide local expertise regarding national/regional payor policies (payer issues, coding changes, and claims submission processes)
- Liaise with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement support center to update HCPs on Rx status and program eligibility
- Report payer trends for approved products to Patient Services and MHC account management teams
- Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate providers within territory
- Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in rare disease with experience in Managed Health Care, Payer Account Management, and/or Access and Reimbursement
- Demonstrated understanding of rules/regulations/risks for reimbursement support services
- Thorough understanding of technical payer policy processes, systems, and requirements for coverage, coding, and payment for specialty medicines
- Strong understanding and ability to communicate coding and billing requirements at national and regional levels across all settings of care
- Comprehensive understanding of Parts A, B, C and D (or Medicare) and associated reimbursement dynamics
- Strong understanding of drug acquisition/dispensing in rare disease (Part B DME, Buy and Bill, Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors, etc.)
- Strong understanding of access and reimbursement support service centers and compliant interaction
- Excellent territory and account management skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Driving a personal auto or company vehicle; valid driver’s license (pre-employment drug screening and safe driving requirements)
- Ability to satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry to facilities in assigned territory (background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses)
