Field Reimbursement Manager, Advanced Parkinson's

This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city (Hartford, CT; New Haven, CT; Springfield, MA).
The Parkinson’s Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) provides in-office alternative support to address HCP questions about patient access and reimbursement for Duopa and Vyalev. Responsibilities include educating on access and reimbursement support tools, advising HCPs on patient prescription status and program eligibility, and educating HCP offices on payer processes and procedures.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Educate HCPs on patient support programs, including access and reimbursement support tools/services
- Educate on product-specific acquisition and access options (e.g., specialty pharmacy networks and specialty distribution)
- Educate on resources available to address access issues
- Provide local expertise on national/regional payor policies (payer issues, coding changes, appropriate claims submission)
- Liaise with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement support center to update HCPs on Rx status and program eligibility
- Report payer trends for approved products to Patient Services and MHC account management teams
- Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate providers within territory
- Stay current on managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years’ experience in rare disease with experience in Managed Health Care, Payer Account Management, and/or Access and Reimbursement
- Demonstrated understanding of rules/regulations/risks for reimbursement support services
- Thorough understanding of technical payer policy processes/systems/requirements for coverage, coding, and payment for specialty medicines
- Strong ability to communicate technical coding and billing requirements at national and regional levels across care settings
- Comprehensive understanding of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D reimbursement dynamics
- Strong understanding of drug acquisition/dispensing in rare disease (Part B DME, Buy and Bill, specialty pharmacies, specialty distributors, etc.)
- Strong understanding of access and reimbursement support service centers and compliant interaction
- Excellent territory and account management skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to drive a personal auto or company vehicle/equipment; valid driver’s license with ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities/organizations in assigned territory (including possible background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses)
