Role Summary
The Field Medical Director, Oncology, Malignant Hematology, Mid-Atlantic (non-MD) provides therapeutic area expertise for malignant hematology across medical customer segments in the DE, MD, DC, and VA region. This role focuses on delivering medical strategy, scientific engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to support PfizerβΓΓ΄s medical objectives.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute Medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers within the territory, coordinating with Pfizer colleagues to achieve Medical objectives.
- Maintain knowledge of malignant hematology TA/disease states and Pfizer medicines, providing information to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Serve as a conduit for Medical Information and customer insights, providing information to HCPs as allowed by Pfizer guidance and sharing customer viewpoints with Pfizer.
- Understand Pfizer Medical Affairs priorities to contribute to medical content strategy and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration among headquarters Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and other Field Medical colleagues.
- Demonstrate expertise in communication across multiple channels (live/virtual presentations, written communication, telephone/virtual conversations).
- Optimize patient centricity of Medical communications and deliverables, incorporating Health Literacy and cultural awareness principles.
- Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area.
- Identify and seek medical engagement from priority customer segments in malignant hematology.
- Provide truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs, in compliance with Pfizer guidelines.
- Lead advisory boards with manager oversight.
- Field inbound queries from HCPs via established triage process.
- Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs to identify sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, including sites serving under-represented populations.
- Provide Medical support throughout Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) processes.
- Cultivate research and therapeutic area expertise, staying current with congress data and literature.
- Provide Asset leadership.
- Understand study design principles and communicate these concepts to customers.
- Demonstrate strong territory leadership.
- Engage with Patient Advocacy Groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs.
- Deliver insights on local patient organization structures, capabilities, and population needs.
- Serve on Medical/TA/asset cross-functional committees as appropriate.
- Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs with clinical/professional associations and societies, maintaining medical professionalism.
- Mentorship βΓΓ¬ onboarding partner, advisory board, and study lead mentor.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- BA/BSc with 8+ years in health science; OR MBA/MS with 7+ years; OR PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Must reside within the territory (DE, MD, DC, VA). No relocation assistance.

- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple external/internal demands and handle conflict constructively.
- Ability to manage a significant volume of projects in a remote environment, prioritize, and exercise sound judgment.

- Ability to operate a Pfizer company car and travel 60-80%; willing to fly regularly; proximity to airline hub.
- Valid US driver's license with clean driving record; past DUI/DWI or impaired driving within 7 years disqualifies.
Nice-to-Have
- PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree highly preferred.
- Malignant hematology experience in multiple myeloma and/or lymphoma strongly preferred.
- Field-based medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
