Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and accountability for field engagement strategies aligned to medical plans for assigned TA(s); monitor progress toward impact metrics.
- Coach, train, and manage the MSL team; lead execution aligned to core accountabilities: Scientific Engagement, Insights Generation, Support Data Generation, Internal Collaboration, and Clinical Study Support.
- Perform field visits with MSLs, address field challenges, and document coaching reports in CRM within 2 business days.
- Co-create/develop TA Medical Plans and lead team execution aligned to medical priorities.
- Set and achieve individual/team performance goals using metrics, resources, budgets, and KPIs; use CRM dashboards to monitor Field Medical Standards and escalate discordance.
- Ensure talent engagement, retention, and succession planning; onboard new talent.
- Ensure compliant adherence to applicable internal/external training requirements and governance processes.
- Lead internal collaboration on insights generation; gather/review/analyze observations for strategic decision-making; communicate key scientific/clinical insights and competitive intelligence.
- Contribute to internal project teams; attend team meetings; conduct manager 1:1s with direct reports.
- Complete company trainings/certifications; maintain individual development plan; stay current on emerging science/technology and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in relevant scientific/medical field (PhD, PharmD, MD).
- 3+ years in a field medical role or pharmaceutical industry.
- People leader experience (preferred).
- Experience working with healthcare systems, payers, providers, and researchers (preferred).
Skills (preferred/required as stated):
- Team management, strategic planning, risk management/mitigation, organizational performance management, knowledge sharing.
- Scientific leadership, healthcare strategy, clinical development, biopharmaceutical industry knowledge.
