Main Responsibilities:
- Coach, develop, and lead the MSL team aligned to the FOUR core accountability areas: (1) Scientific Engagement (2) Insights Generation (3) Support Data Generation (4) Internal Collaboration
- Coach, train, and manage MSL performance and development to ensure strategic objectives are achieved
- Conduct field visits with individual MSLs to support territory development and promptly address field challenges/issues (minimum envisaged: 4/year)
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Practitioners
- Ensure each MSL develops and executes a regional field medical plan aligned with USMA annual Strategic Medical and Tactical Plans
- Ensure MSLs have robust scientific knowledge and communication skills to deliver balanced, impactful scientific exchanges with external stakeholders
- Oversee insight generation activities and incorporate insights into Medical strategic plans; identify local data generation initiatives aligned with Medical strategy and stakeholder needs
- Oversee MSL support of clinical trial programs (with cross-functional medical colleagues)
- Manage MSL resources and budgets
- Set and meet individual/team performance goals via monitoring metrics, resources, budgets, and KPIs; report MSL metrics and performance to senior management
- Ensure continuous talent engagement and retention strategies with clear career pathways and development plans
- Co-create/develop strategic field-based medical engagement plans and lead team execution aligned to medical priorities using all MSL tools
- Maintain clinical/scientific expertise through self-education (conferences, workshops, key publications)
- Ensure compliance and adherence to governance processes

Qualifications:
- Education: advanced degree preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP or equivalent)
- Work Experience: previous MSL management experience preferred
- Therapeutic area expertise/experience preferred

- Ability to analyze performance and provide strong coaching/support
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Strong scientific and business acumen; ability to translate insights into strategic action plans
- Ability to participate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams; ability to set and meet business goals/objectives
- Project management skills; manage multiple competing priorities
- Effective time management in complex environments; motivate/guide teams across skill levels
- Agility to identify critical tasks and necessary resources to execute strategies
- Deep knowledge of local pharmaceutical regulations and codes of practice for non-promotional activities
- High knowledge of healthcare systems, medical landscape, regulatory/payer environment, public health, and industry trends to develop strategies and plans
