General Summary:
The Field Medical Director (Nephrology) is a key member of the Medical Affairs team, providing a real-world clinical practice perspective through high-quality scientific and clinical engagement with key stakeholders. The role leads projects, serves as a cross-functional scientific resource, and contributes to strategic and tactical planning.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Medical Affairs resource with real-world clinical/practice perspective.
- Conduct high-quality, non-promotional scientific and clinical exchange with national and regional nephrology thought leaders.
- Contribute clinical insights to inform strategic planning (including Evidence Generation and Medical Education priorities).
- Collaborate with internal Medical Affairs partners to align field activities with scientific priorities and leadership guidance.
- Lead Medical Affairs workstreams, advisory boards, and selected projects.
- Support cross-functional teams with consultative clinical input and participate in joint external engagements as needed.
- Maintain compliance with applicable Medical Affairs policies, standards, and regulations governing scientific exchange.
Knowledge And Skills:
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design/interpretation, real-world evidence, and data interpretation.
- Ability to conduct non-promotional scientific exchange with thought leaders.
- Integrate clinical practice experience into balanced scientific dialogue.
- Effective scientific communication with credibility to engage experienced clinicians.
- Experience capturing and synthesizing medical insights for Medical Affairs planning.
- Solid understanding of Medical Affairs compliance, governance, and SOPs.
- Ability to prioritize by scientific need and impact.
- Collaborative, cross-functional mindset.
- Travel up to ~40%.
Education And Experience:
- MD or DO required.
- US board certification in Nephrology required.
- 10+ years of combined clinical and/or industry experience strongly preferred.
Pay Range:
- $224,000 - $336,000
