Field Applications Scientist, Immunoassay Specialist (Metro New York area; territory: New York & Northern New Jersey)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide customer assistance on immunoassay platform questions (assay design/planning, correlation & bridging between platforms, data interpretation).
- Present scientific seminars; assist pre-sales by performing evaluations at prospect sites.
- Attend and interact with customers at scientific meetings/conferences/tradeshows; provide feedback to sales/marketing/PM.
- Provide customer feedback and field visit reports.
- Serve as a subject matter expert; stay current on immunoassay science/workflows and present internally; collaborate with global FAS teams.
- Train and support scientists on Luminex & Ella instrument use, assay development, and data analysis.
- Build relationships with customers and internal teams; support sales via technical presentations, demos, and vendor show participation.
- Accompany Sales Reps in customer labs; provide post-sales assay development and troubleshooting (in-person/virtual/phone/email).
- Travel to customer laboratories; contribute feedback to marketing/product/software teams; assist with technical literature/training resources.
- Create/maintain customer support info in CRM (Salesforce) and communicate effectively.
Education & Experience:
- BS/BA in biochemistry, bioengineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biology, or related life science; MS/PhD and Field Applications Scientist experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years hands-on immunoassay experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong understanding of immunoassay principles and applicability; ability to troubleshoot/optimize/validate assays and reagents.
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation/training skills; knowledge of scientific literature/methods.
- Proven ability to work independently and in teams; multitask/prioritize; strong time management/organization; training experience.
- Ability to travel ~50% of the time.
