Field Application Engineer - High Speed Interconnects

Role: Customer Facing Application Engineer specializing in optical interconnects, primarily fiber optics and expanded beam optics, supporting data center and high-performance connectivity solutions. Responsibilities: serve as technical interface with customers for design-in activities, provide application guidance, support qualification and troubleshooting, collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams on product development and customer needs, develop technical documentation, and stay current with industry standards. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field; 3+ years in technical/customer-facing roles, with at least 2 years in high-speed interconnect technologies including optical fiber; valid driver’s license. Preferred: 5+ years in optical connectivity, knowledge of data center architectures, optical test equipment, and experience with process engineering for optical components. Biopharma relevance: high-value for companies involved in data-heavy sectors like biotech or health tech infrastructure, emphasizing optical connectivity for high-performance data systems. Work setup: remote within the U.S., up to 15% travel; may include domestic and international travel.
