Role Responsibilities
- Patient Access: Identify pathways to higher patient access rates; address access/reimbursement challenges within a defined geographic area.
- Navigate complexities of multi-specialty practices, health systems, and IDNs to influence successful access to Pfizer products with key stakeholders (patient access, coding, billing & reimbursement).
- Proactively provide education on commercial/government payer coverage; prior authorization/utilization management/medical exception; documentation & appeal processes; new-to-market access pathways; HUB info and patient affordability programs; and patient case management.
- Account Management: Manage proactive accounts and reactive referral escalations; analyze local insurance environment to meet patient access objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop actionable support plans across systems of care.
- Identify, connect, and educate stakeholders to increase patient access to Pfizer products.
- Business & People Leadership: Align internal decision makers to ensure compliant, effective outcomes.
- Influence/lead/collaborate with US Market Access functions, Area Business Managers, Sales, HUB partner, KAD/HSSS, and Medical Team.
- Develop and execute integrated account team (IAT) business plans; provide local insights impacting access challenges.
- Analyze local market/account priorities; share/scale market access practices; lead and assess education and access initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience (sales and/or coding, access and reimbursement). Reimbursement/Access experience highly preferred.
- Strong specialty drug reimbursement and government payment systems knowledge; provider/carrier networks; co-pay assistance programs; policy dynamics across business units/brands.
- BS/BA required.
- Exceptional communication/presentation, strategic planning, problem-solving; demonstrated cross-functional leadership and collaboration.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance; strong payer policy process/system understanding and payer prescription approval communication.
- Valid US driverβs license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coding and reimbursement certification preferred (not required); coding/billing knowledge a plus.
