Position Summary:
Provide expert field-based patient education and support throughout the treatment journey for the Rett community. Serve as a dedicated point of contact to Rett families for on-label clinical education-related questions about disease state and product education. Helps patients start and stay on therapy.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide disease state, product, and ongoing therapy management education upon request to patients, caregivers, and/or care teams (in-person, telephonic, and virtual).
- Assess individual needs of patients and caregivers; provide appropriate education and resources throughout the patient journey.
- Support assigned territory and collaborate with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Sales, Patient Access Team, Medical Affairs, Advocacy; may require coverage of multiple states).
- Use expert knowledge to provide insights to internal stakeholders to address educational gaps and improve disease state/therapy management strategies.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of disease state, product, and Acadia Customer Support Programs (e.g., Hub, Patient Assistance Programs, ambassador speaker programs).
- Moderate/lead caregiver speaker programs and attend community events.
- Provide reactive in-service to physician offices about the role and patient support resources (pre/post enrollment), fostering dialogue between caregivers and providers.
- Identify opportunities for leadership, mentorship/development, and training related to Patient Support Services.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required (life sciences preferred). RN, MSN, MBA a plus.
- Family Support Educator: 5+ years relevant healthcare/pharma experience, incl. 2+ years patient support/education.
- Senior Family Support Educator: 8+ years relevant healthcare/pharma experience, incl. 5+ years patient support/education.

Key Skills (required/preferred):
- Rare disease experience strongly preferred; patient/caregiver education strongly preferred.
- Advocacy and account management experience preferred; strong field-environment understanding.
- Cross-functional collaboration; leading without authority.
- Experience with provider offices and/or patient assistance/pharma support programs strongly preferred.
- Patient-centric mindset; high emotional intelligence and empathy; empathetic listening.
- Exceptional organization/time management; HIPAA knowledge.
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Manage expenses within budgets; adaptable to change.
- Travel up to 70% (territory dependent). Meet vaccination requirements for in-person activities.

Compensation (salary range shown):
- Family Support Educator: $124,000–$155,000.
- Sr. Family Support Educator: $136,000–$170,000.
