Position Summary:
Provide expert field-based patient education and support throughout the treatment journey for the Rett community. Serve as a dedicated point of contact to Rett families for on-label clinical education questions about disease state and product education. Primarily engage with caregivers and families (and healthcare professionals as appropriate) to help patients start and stay on therapy.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide disease state, product, and ongoing therapy management education upon request in consumer-friendly language (in-person, telephonic, and virtual formats).
- Assess individual needs of patients and caregivers; provide appropriate education and resources throughout the patient journey.
- Support an assigned territory with internal cross-functional partners; may require coverage of multiple states.
- Use expert knowledge to inform internal stakeholders and develop tools/resources to close educational gaps and improve therapy management strategies.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of disease/product and Acadia Customer Support Programs (e.g., hub-related, patient assistance, ambassador speaker programs).
- Moderate/lead caregiver speaker programs and attend community events; provide reactive in-services to physician offices.
- Identify and execute leadership opportunities; provide mentorship and support for onboarding/development.
- Identify training/development opportunities related to Patient Support Services.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required (life sciences preferred); RN/MSN/MBA a plus.
- Family Support Educator: 5+ years relevant healthcare/pharmaceutical experience, including 2+ years in patient support/education.
- Senior Family Support Educator: 8+ years relevant experience, including 5+ years in patient support/education.

Key Skills (required/preferred):
- Rare disease experience strongly preferred.
- Patient/caregiver education; account management; advocacy preferred.
- Strong field-environment understanding; cross-functional collaboration; lead without authority.
- Experience with provider offices and patient support programs strongly preferred.
- Patient-centric, empathetic, strong communication/presentation, organization/time management.
- Understand HIPAA; strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to travel up to 70%; meet local/state/federal vaccination requirements for in-person activities.
