Position Summary:
Provide expert field-based patient education and support throughout the treatment journey for the Rett community. Serve as a dedicated point of contact to Rett families for on-label, clinical education-related questions about disease state and product education.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide disease state, product, and ongoing therapy management education upon request in consumer-friendly language (in-person, telephonic, and/or virtual).
- Assess individual needs of patients and caregivers and provide ongoing education and resources across the patient journey.
- Support assigned territory (multiple states possible) in collaboration with internal cross-functional partners (Marketing, Sales, Patient Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, etc.).
- Use expert knowledge to provide insights to internal stakeholders to develop tools/resources for educational gaps and therapy management.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of disease state, product, and Acadia Customer Support Programs (e.g., Hub-related and Patient Assistance Programs).
- Moderate/lead caregiver speaker programs as needed; attend community events.
- Reactively provide in-services to physician offices and foster dialogue between caregivers and healthcare providers.
- Identify and execute leadership opportunities; may mentor/develop team members.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and company values.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelorβs degree required (life sciences preferred). RN/MSN/MBA a plus.
- Family Support Educator: 5+ years relevant healthcare/pharmaceutical experience, including 2+ years in patient support/education.
- Senior Family Support Educator: 8+ years relevant experience, including 5+ years in patient support/education.
Key Skills:
- Rare disease experience strongly preferred; patient/caregiver education strongly preferred.
- Account management and advocacy experience preferred.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration; leading without authority.
- Experience with provider offices and/or patient assistance programs strongly preferred.
- Patient-centric mindset with empathy and emotional intelligence; exceptional organization/time management.
- Understand HIPAA; strong written/verbal and presentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Manage expenses within budget; adaptable to change.
- Travel up to 70% (territory-dependent); meet vaccination requirements for in-person field activities.

Salary Range:
- $124,000β$155,000 (Family Support Educator)
- $136,000β$170,000 (Sr. Family Support Educator)
