Role Summary
Purified Water Technicians are responsible for maintaining all facility purified water systems in good working condition, including adding and adjusting chemical levels, performing online adjustments, verifying that the system produces water within current USP specifications, and recording critical plant parameters. Maintaining GMP documentation.
Schedule: 2nd Shift 3:30pm – 12:00am Tuesday to Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day operation and maintenance of all purified water generation, storage and distribution systems of the plant. Support micro department for water sampling as and when required.
- Replenishes chemicals into auto dosing tanks as needed; adjust chemical levels; remove and clean chemical holding tanks every 72 hours.
- Mop the floor of the room every day. Clean and wipe down the entire system every day.
- Prepares chemicals (anti-scaling, SMBS, NAOH); empty storage tank and refill it; empty transfer tank and refill it.
- Communicate any out-of-specification issue to supervisor and inform all end user departments; perform sanitization of the system as per schedule or as needed.
- Checks alarm screens for warnings or issues and address them immediately; checks and logs all readings.
- Checks printed reports for issues and address them immediately.
- Ensure that all needed supplies and critical spares for the systems are in stock and available, including dosing chemicals and printer paper.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years or more in Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Purified water system experience.
Skills
- Purified water plant operations knowledge.
- Knowledge of current USP water standards.
- Must be able to communicate clearly any changes in status of the system, write clearly to record readings of the system, and keep an inventory of chemicals and other supplies well stocked. Collaborate with purchasing to ensure all items are readily available when needed. - Intermediate
