Role Summary

Facilities Maintenance Technician at our Saratoga, NY location. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Initial training at the Rensselaer site with work locations alternating between Rensselaer and Saratoga. Role involves hands-on maintenance, solving, and repair of facilities systems and equipment to support the manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance (PMs) and work orders (WOs) on HVAC systems, chilled water systems, air compressors, and other facilities equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing industrial HVAC systems, air handler units, and utility systems.
  • Assisting with utility operations, including boilers, water systems, compressed gases, and cleanroom maintenance.
  • Monitoring and responding to alarms from Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Supporting pest control, inspection readiness, and general building maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinating and supervising contracted maintenance services.

Qualifications

  • To be considered, must be willing and able to work Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
  • Minimum requirements vary by level:
    • Facilities Maintenance Technician III: 5+ years of related experience or high school diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience
    • Facilities Maintenance Technician IV: 8+ years of related experience or high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience
  • Prefer an AAS degree in Engineering, Construction Technologies, or related field.
  • Prior experience with large-scale utilities plants is preferred.

Skills

  • Solid understanding of industrial HVAC systems and ability to read piping, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
  • Experience across a range of systems in a cGMP environment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Flexibility, thoroughness, and comfort working in a dynamic environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Education

  • AAS degree in Engineering, Construction Technologies, or related field preferred
  • Alternate: HSD/GED with relevant experience as specified for Technician III/IV
