The Role: 

ElevateBio is seeking a Facilities & Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented, organized, and have a strong desire to learn. Key responsibilities will be to support the start-up and commissioning activities of a new cGMP Facility for development and manufacturing of Cell & Gene Therapies, includes but not limited to facilities, utilities, mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, water, compressed air & gases, etc). 

 Here’s What You’ll Do: 

  • Support maintenance and engineering teams to establish the facilities operations, maintenance and calibration programs. 
  • Learn and provide hands-on experience in maintenance processes, preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and safety practices. 
  • Learn and support creation of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) records. 
  • Learn and comply with regulatory requirements for maintenance, engineering and equipment such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Maintenance Practices (GMP), and Good Engineering Practices (GEP). 
  • Learn and provide hands-on experience on applying the Asset Life-cycle Process for facilities, process and lab equipment. 
  • Participate in the initial start-up and operational support of facilities, process, laboratory and automation systems (BMS, PCS). 
  • Evaluate vendor documentation to make recommendations for maintenance, calibration, commissioning and qualification of assets. 
  • Interpret P&IDs, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications to plan and perform maintenance and repair activities. 
  • Assist with maintaining standards and coordinating calibration schedules. 
  • Commitment to perform all work in a safe manner. Requirements: 

  • Technical, Engineering or equivalent STEM background, Community College, GED, Bachelor Program or equivalent required. 
  • Ability to multitask and always maintain professionalism 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Work independently on assigned projects and collaboratively in a multi-functional team environment supporting day-to-day manufacturing schedules and operations 
  • Work within Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to complete preventive and responsive maintenance work orders. 
  • Work within paper and electronic Quality Systems  
  • Work within paper and electronic Facilities Engineering documentation systems to maintain engineering drawings, documentation and equipment history files. 
  • Lift/carry 40 lbs. 
  • Work from ladders/step stools 

The budgeted range for this position is $25.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected hourly range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
