ExploR&D Pharma Project Manager (EPPM)

Role: The Lilly ExploR&D Pharma Project Manager (EPPM) serves as the primary operational lead for external collaboration projects from discovery through clinical proof-of-concept, coordinating cross-functional teams, timelines, and risk management. Responsibilities include managing partnerships, tracking project progress, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget. The EPPM also drives operational and process improvements across Lilly's early-stage R&D portfolio, partnering with global teams such as Lilly-BioTDR and the China team. Requirements: Advanced degree (MS, PhD, PharmD) in a biological or health-related field with 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience, especially in drug discovery and early development. Preferred skills include experience with Lilly systems, external innovation, project operations, and cross-regional collaboration, particularly in biotech ecosystems. High-value biopharma specifics include early-stage (discovery to proof-of-concept), cross-therapeutic collaboration, and global partnership management, with up to 10% travel. The role is based in San Diego.
