As an Expert Medical Information Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading medical information services across key disease areas, partnering closely with Medical Affairs leaders to support informed decision making. You will take ownership of both planned and reactive medical information activities, lead complex and escalated enquiries, and ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and scientific integrity. Job Description Responsibilities: Lead planned and reactive medical information services across assigned disease areas, ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery Own end‑to‑end delivery of medical information services, including forecasting, scoping, and accurate tiering of activities Partner with Medical Affairs leaders to plan and optimise medical information strategies across therapy areas Act as delivery lead for medical information congress support, covering both on‑site and remote activities Deliver highly complex and escalated medical information responses with scientific accuracy and sound judgement Manage and resolve escalations from external healthcare professionals in line with regulatory requirements Ensure full compliance with regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and internal medical information standards and codes of practice Oversee quality review, accuracy, and integrity of all assigned medical information deliverables and projects Provide therapy area expertise and guidance across aligned franchises and multiple internal clients Mentor and coach senior and manager‑level medical information colleagues, building capability and future leadership Essential for the role: Degree in a healthcare discipline or a related life sciences field Minimum of five years’ experience delivering Medical Information services within the pharmaceutical industry Proven experience delivering Medical Information activities at both global and local levels Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of disease areas relevant to Novartis therapeutic areas Demonstrated expertise in high‑quality Medical Information writing and content review Strong understanding of regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and industry standards governing Medical Information Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders with a strong client‑focused mindset Experience mentoring, coaching, and supporting the development of Medical Information professionals Desirable for the role: Advanced degree in a life sciences or healthcare discipline, such as Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or Doctor of Medicine Experience leading Medical Information activities for complex therapy areas or multiple disease areas simultaneously Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.
