Role: Executive Medical Director, Early Clinical Development in Lilly's Immunology team, leading translational strategies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Responsibilities: develop and refine therapeutic hypotheses, oversee early-phase clinical studies, integrate translational biomarkers, contribute to regulatory strategies, and influence portfolio direction through cross-functional collaboration. Requirements: MD or DO, board eligible/certified in Rheumatology, Dermatology, or related specialty; 3–5+ years pharma/biotech experience in early clinical development; strong background in immunology, translational medicine, and clinical trial design. Preferred: PhD in Immunology or related field, proven leadership in early-phase trials, expertise with biologics and novel immunomodulatory approaches, experience with regulatory interactions, and a track record of scientific publications. High-Value: autoimmune/inflammatory indications, early clinical phase (FIH to proof-of-concept), biomarker strategies, global regulatory engagement, and influence in immunology innovation. Location: Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, or Indianapolis, with 25-40% travel. Reports to: Head of Early Clinical Development, Immunology Discovery. Collaboration: Extensive matrix across discovery, translational medicine, pharmacology, regulatory, and business development teams. Work setup: Full-time role with significant leadership and strategic influence in a rapidly expanding Lilly Immunology organization.
