Role: Executive Medical Director, Early Clinical Development in Immunology, leading translational efforts to develop treatments for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Responsibilities: oversee strategic portfolio development, collaborate with discovery and clinical teams to refine therapeutic hypotheses, design early clinical studies integrating biomarkers, support regulatory interactions, lead cross-functional teams, and represent Lilly externally. Requirements: MD or DO with board eligibility/certification in Rheumatology, Dermatology, or related fields; 3-5+ years industry experience in early clinical development; strong background in immunology, translational medicine, and clinical trial design; experience with biologics, small molecules, or cell therapies. Preferred: PhD in Immunology or related field, proven leadership in autoimmune disease programs, regulatory experience, and publication record. High-Value: autoimmune/inflammatory indications, early-phase clinical trials, biomarker-driven strategies, cross-functional influence, global collaboration, domestic and international travel (25-40%). Work setup: multiple US-based locations including Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, and Indianapolis; extensive matrix leadership and external engagement.
