Role Summary

Executive Medical Director, Clinical Development, (Thrombosis) – provide clinical scientific leadership for the Factor XI program and oversee the clinical development strategy and execution of trials in this area. Partner with Global Program Head to design optimal development strategy for the portfolio. Lead a team of MDs and clinical scientists to meet personal and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as medical expert and leader in interactions with external collaborators (regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, advisory boards, patient advocacy groups) and internal teams (Research, Early Clinical Development, Global Medical Affairs, Marketing, HEOR) and internal decision boards.
  • Use scientific standing to address issues with rigor and creativity; build and defend data-driven plans and decisions with internal management and external partners.
  • Develop innovative clinical strategies to shorten the development cycle; design and develop smaller, robust FIH as well as Phase 2/3 programs.
  • Lead consensus-building across multi-disciplinary teams; manage dynamic, matrixed clinical teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead and develop a team of MDs and clinical scientists to meet personal and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record in leadership roles with external collaborators and substantial drug development experience (including IND and BLA/NDA submissions).
  • Experience in leading study start-up, directing study execution, data cleaning, medical review, database locks, and handling health authority responses.
  • Strong commitment to impacting patients through drug development and ability to work well in a team.

Education

  • Advanced degree in medicine (MD or equivalent); MD/PhD strongly preferred.
  • REGN requires a total of 12 years of clinical development experience with 6–8 years in industry; remainder in academic settings. Minimum 5 years of people management experience (may include matrix management).

Additional Requirements

  • On-site requirement: minimum of 4 days per week on-site in Tarrytown, NY or Basking Ridge, NJ.
