Job Overview
- Lead the Market Access team focused on US product distribution.
- Establish and implement the distribution model to support access to Protara medicines and ensure rapid availability to approved customers.
- Lead launch implementation from US 3PL relationship initiation through order-to-cash.
- Develop and implement Specialty Distribution and Specialty Pharmacy networks.
- Develop and implement programs and contracts with group purchasing organizations (GPOs).
- Collaborate with Managed Access, Accounting, Legal, Finance, Information Systems, Government pricing, Quality, and Pharmaceutical Operations.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
- Develop, implement, and continually evaluate the Trade Distribution model; adjust for new products, risk mitigation, and regulatory/legislative changes.
- Own relationships with channel partners; use data to improve distribution efficiencies, address risks, and manage budget.
- Oversee returns, transaction adjustments, new customer set-ups, credit limit requests, Trade notifications, and order reviews.
- Partner with IT to ensure quality of ex-factory sales data.
- Manage relationships and contracts with US Specialty Distributors.
- Partner with Supply Chain to manage product dating and maintain appropriate 3PL inventory.
- Liaise with Legal to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Serve as subject matter expert for New Product Launch teams.
- Partner with BD and Marketing to evaluate and recommend distribution strategies for new products.
- Oversee Trade policies/procedures (orders, returns, replacements, credit/rebill requests, inventory, chargeback processing).
- Business travel (air/train/car) up to 50%.

Education/Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- Oncology/Rare Disease market experience; buy and bill product experience.
- 10+ years relevant experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- 5+ years in Channel, Trade & Distribution; biotech/pharma experience.
- Experience managing a distribution network, preferably specialty distribution and specialty pharmacies.
- In-depth knowledge of managed care and impact on product access.
- People management experience.
- Strong customer service approach; solution oriented.
- Attention to detail; ability to work with internal teams and external partners/vendors.
- Strong oral/written presentation skills and executive presence.
- Strong vendor management skills.
- Ability to create high-quality documentation.
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
Preferred Experience
- Design/implement distribution strategy for first product to market biotech company.
- Establish 3PL for first product to market biotech company.
- Buy and bill and medical benefit product experience.
- Contracting experience with GPOs, hospital systems, and private practice providers.
- Leadership accomplishments leading cross-functional teams.
- Cross-functional experience developing/executing strategic business plans.
