Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Management team (hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management).
- Define roles, expectations, and accountability standards for project managers embedded in program and functional teams.
- Ensure consistent training and capability development across the PM team.
- Assess PM capacity and align resources with evolving program and functional priorities.
- Foster a culture of rigor, transparency, and continuous improvement within the PM function.
- Partner across Research, Clinical Development, CMC, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Finance, and other operational groups to standardize planning, milestones, risk tracking, and reporting.
- Drive alignment between program and functional teams on timelines, dependencies, decision points, and resource needs.
- Standardize integrated planning to reduce execution variability across programs.
- Identify and manage cross-functional risks and interdependencies; facilitate governance interactions and escalation pathways.
- Lead Smartsheet platform strategy: governance, optimization, templates/dashboards/reporting frameworks, adoption as the primary platform, data integrity, and executive dashboard alignment.
- Provide oversight for Smartsheet enhancements, integrations, and user enablement.
- Develop/refine project management standards, templates, and governance practices; ensure integrated development plans, status reports, and performance metrics.
- Support executive-level reporting/portfolio transparency; monitor execution trends to improve alignment and operational effectiveness.
- Provide direct PM leadership for high-priority/complex initiatives; support cross-functional operational initiatives and expand PM support as needed; integrate new programs/functions into standardized PM frameworks.

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MBA, MS) in Life Sciences, Drug Development, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 8–10+ years in biotechnology or pharmaceutical development with significant cross-functional project management experience.
- 3–5+ years managing a project management team.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing project management professionals.
- Strong understanding of drug discovery and development processes.
- Experience implementing standardized PM governance frameworks and enterprise tools.
- Proven ability to drive alignment across matrixed program and functional teams.
- Experience leading enterprise-level Smartsheet or comparable project portfolio management platforms (strongly preferred).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Knowledge/Skills (required/preferred):
- Cross-functional PM expertise in biotech/pharma.
- Integrated planning, resource alignment, and risk management.
- Experience building scalable PMO structures and alignment frameworks.
- Advanced Smartsheet capability (dashboards, reporting frameworks, governance structures).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Compensation:
- Washington State Pay Range: $265,000 - $376,161 USD
