SALES LEADER (Executive Director) – ZILGANERSEN

Responsibilities
- Define the sales vision and multi-year field strategy for zilganersen; align with brand strategy, launch objectives, and rare neurology franchise growth.
- Synthesize brand requirements, market dynamics, and future customer needs into enterprise field priorities; drive account segmentation.
- Lead innovation, best-practice sharing, and breakthrough thinking to strengthen launch excellence.
- Build, lead, and develop the RDAS field organization aligned to commercialization strategy and long-term business priorities.
- Set leadership expectations and operating principles promoting compliance, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct business reviews and talent discussions (coaching, recognition, succession, development planning).
- Own performance management for Rare Disease Account Specialists (reviews, coaching, calibration, development plan execution) and ensure achievement of MBOs.
- Lead organizational change and create risk mitigation plans to protect launch execution and business continuity.
- Partner with senior leaders and lead cross-functional governance to align field execution with messaging, launch priorities, and approved ways of working.
- Drive external collaboration with customers/key accounts to build advocates.
- Attract, develop, and retain talent; manage approved budgets and provide sign-off on deployment/resource decisions.
- Deliver an integrated customer experience using data insights to evolve the experience within budget.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA in life science/biology or business-related field). MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
- Experience: 18+ years progressive pharma/biotech experience in sales and/or marketing leadership plus field reimbursement and market access.
- Neurology experience in rare disease and complex Centers of Excellence (including specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, Hub, Buy and Bill, medical exception process).
- Experience working with pediatric neurologists/neurologists; strong knowledge of healthcare system, market access landscape, payer reimbursement policies.
- Proven track record meeting/exceeding quantitative and qualitative targets; strong understanding of laws/codes/policies in healthcare.
- Required leadership skills to build/manage/develop multi-functional organizations in complex launch environments.

Role logistics: On-site (Carlsbad, CA or Boston, MA) or fully remote; for remote, visits to Carlsbad HQ and other sites as needed.
