Summary of Position
- Executive Director, Program and Portfolio Management will lead strategic planning, execution, and governance of the development portfolio, orchestrating cross-functional decisions to advance product candidates from discovery through commercialization.

Responsibilities
- Lead/oversee cross-functional program teams advancing pipeline assets through discovery, IND-enabling, clinical development, regulatory submission/approval, and commercialization.
- Create, integrate, and execute development plans (strategy, timelines, milestones, budgets, resources, risks/assumptions, and key decision points).
- Partner with functional leaders (research, clinical, regulatory, CMC, finance, new product planning, business development) to align on objectives and priorities.
- Maintain integrated program/portfolio timelines, critical path activities, interdependencies, risks, and mitigation.
- Lead portfolio management (planning, scenario analysis, risk/issue management, resource alignment, budget coordination, go/no-go criteria).
- Support governance by preparing clear, data-driven materials for senior leadership and review/ governance bodies (as needed, Board).
- Develop, track, and communicate goals, deliverables, milestones, risks, and progress; resolve cross-functional issues affecting scope, timeline, budget, quality, or alignment.
- Lead/mentor the Program and Portfolio Management team; champion program-management best practices, tools, dashboards, processes, and operating models.
- Advise senior leadership on prioritization, strategy, trade-offs, resourcing, and investment decisions.
- Maintain alliance governance and participate in joint steering committees/external partner interactions, as appropriate.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences/biology/pharmaceutical sciences/chemistry/engineering or related field (required). Advanced degree (MS/PhD/PharmD/MD) preferred.
- PMP or other program/project management training/certification preferred (not required).
- 12+ years relevant experience in biotech/pharma/life sciences/healthcare consulting.
- 7+ years people management with increasing responsibility.
- Significant experience in program/portfolio management, product development, asset strategy, or drug development leadership.
- Experience leading cross-functional drug development across phases (preferably early through late-stage, including clinical and regulatory interactions).
- Track record managing complex development programs, integrated timelines, cross-functional budgets, risk plans, and executive deliverables; experience with portfolio governance.
- Preferred: oncology/immunology/biologics/antibody-based therapeutics/specialty pharma experience; experience with external partners/CROs/CDMOs/consultants.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep drug discovery/development understanding (preclinical, IND-enabling, clinical, regulatory strategy, CMC, safety, commercialization).
- Strong program/portfolio management: integrated planning, critical path, risk/resource/scenario planning, governance support.
- Strategic mindset; strong financial/business acumen; executive presence and exceptional communication.
