Position Summary
- ED/VP, Pricing and Contracting responsible for developing and executing the companyโs pricing strategy across the portfolio (including launch products and marketed brands), establishing pricing frameworks that optimize patient access, maximize product value, and support long-term business objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory and government pricing requirements.
- Partners with Market Access, Commercial, Finance, HEOR, Government Affairs, and Legal to develop evidence-based pricing strategies and executive recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead U.S. and global pricing strategies for pipeline and commercial products.
- Build and operationalize internal pricing infrastructure (governance, strategic pricing processes, pricing committee management).
- Establish launch pricing recommendations (clinical value, competitive landscape, market dynamics, payer expectations).
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop GPO and IDN contracting strategies.
- Build pricing scenarios and long-term pricing strategies across the product lifecycle.
- Lead pricing activities for product launches; develop launch pricing governance processes; ensure pricing readiness and commercialization.
- Monitor market/competitor/pricing and reimbursement changes; conduct pricing research and willingness-to-pay analyses.
- Develop pricing and contracting models; evaluate gross-to-net impacts; partner with Finance on forecasting and planning; provide executive recommendations.
- Collaborate with payer strategy, trade/distribution, and HEOR to build value propositions; support payer/channel negotiations.
- Establish global pricing principles; develop international reference pricing and launch sequencing recommendations; lead pricing committee processes.
- Partner with Government Pricing teams to understand implications for Medicaid Drug Rebate, Medicare Part B/Part D, 340B, Federal Supply Schedule, and Inflation Reduction Act; ensure compliance with applicable laws/regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelorโs degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Life Sciences, or related field.
- 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience.
- 7+ years in pricing, market access, or commercial strategy.
- Demonstrated launch pricing strategy experience in specialty pharma/biotech.
- Strong understanding of U.S. and global pricing/reimbursement systems.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive decision-making.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred
- MBA/MPH/PharmD or advanced degree.
- Experience in specialty/rare disease/oncology/ophthalmology/biologics.
- Global pricing and market access experience.
- Experience in commercial-stage or launch-stage biotechnology companies.
