Executive Director, Portfolio & Program Management

Role: Executive Director of Portfolio & Program Management, leading global efforts across drug development and commercialization for multiple disease areas at Vertex. Responsibilities include providing strategic and operational leadership to cross-functional teams, mentoring senior program managers, driving resource optimization and organizational design, and representing the portfolio on governance and senior leadership forums. The role ensures integration of research, development, and commercialization aligned with Disease Area Strategy Teams (DST). Requirements: Bachelor's in Life Sciences or related field, 15+ years of experience including 7+ years in management of large, complex teams and programs, with deep expertise in portfolio management, strategic planning, risk/resource management, and drug discovery/development. Skills needed include leadership of diverse teams, financial acumen, stakeholder collaboration, and biopharma knowledge across disciplines.
