Role Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and scale a team of 8 Neurology Account Directors (NADs) to support launch and commercialization of a C5 inhibitor for generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG).
- Establish and manage an institutional neurology accounts team targeting ~75β100 academic medical centers (AMCs) and neuromuscular specialty centers.
- Serve as the senior commercial interface between Market Access, Commercial Sales, Medical Affairs, and Patient Services to ensure formulary access, competitive access execution, and seamless patient transitions within targeted institutions.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop NADs; set performance expectations, KPIs, coaching cadence, and talent development aligned to launch and franchise growth.
- Conduct field rides, supervise account planning, lead joint account calls, and perform performance reviews.
- Lead national institutional neurology accounts strategy for the launch (account tiering, territory alignment, and coverage optimization across 8 U.S. regions).
- Build and execute a competitive account management playbook targeting ~3,500 Ultomiris-treated gMG patients concentrated at major AMC and neuromuscular centers.
- Develop account engagement models including formulary strategy, P&T committee navigation, infusion pull-through, and patient services coordination.
- Act as primary Market Access liaison to Neurology Commercial Sales; align account coverage, messaging, and institutional pull-through.
- Collaborate on institutional contracting strategy, payer policy coordination, and prior authorization barrier resolution.
- Partner with Medical Affairs on KOL strategy, congress engagement, and medical education programming.
- Coordinate with Patient Services on hub services, specialty pharmacy workflows, and reimbursement case resolution.
- Define and track KPIs; prepare and present quarterly business reviews to VP and senior leadership.
- Own Neurology Key Accounts team budget (headcount, operating expenses, congress/education investments).
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, PhD) strongly preferred.
- 12+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience with at least 5 years leading institutional account, market access, patient services, or other account management teams.
- Proven track record building and scaling high-performing field account teams (rare disease, neurology, or specialty biologics).
- Deep institutional account management expertise (AMC/IDN formulary strategy, P&T committee engagement, buy-and-bill economics).
- Strong strategic planning and analytics skills leveraging claims data, commercial intelligence, and market research.
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership; ability to influence across Sales, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, and Payer functions.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
Preferred
- Launch leadership experience in rare disease, neurology, or specialty biologic markets.
- Experience with infusion biologics/complement inhibitors/autoimmune neurology therapies or other complex advanced therapeutics.
- Existing relationships with academic neurology leadership, MGFA-recognized centers, or neuromuscular KOL community.
- Understanding of myasthenia gravis disease management, treatment landscape, and patient journey.
