Executive Director, Medical Affairs Operations & Strategic Excellence

Role: Executive Director of Medical Affairs, Operations and Strategic Excellence, serving as a strategic leader to advance medical affairs initiatives within a biotech/pharmaceutical setting. Responsibilities: oversee key programs including IME, ISTs, Medical Communications, Medical Information, HEOR, and EAP; refine medical strategy, enhance training, ensure policy compliance, and support KOL engagement; drive operational efficiency, vendor management, and KPI reporting; collaborate cross-functionally with clinical development, commercial, and market access teams to integrate scientific and strategic goals. Requirements: 15+ years in Medical Affairs leadership; advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD); strong strategic, operational, and leadership expertise in biotech/pharma; experience with medical education, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration; proficient in clinical medicine, pharmacology, and drug development; excellent communication skills. High-Value: focus on medical affairs within a biotech/pharma context, global leadership experience, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. Work Setup: based in Waltham, MA; hybrid work with three days onsite; travel up to 25% for congresses, advisory boards, and KOL interactions.
