Position Summary:
The Executive Director, Managed Markets is a field-based role responsible for leading all Managed Markets functions—account management, marketing, contracting, and product access—to drive optimized market performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the Managed Markets commercial strategy to optimize profitable access and drive revenue growth.
- Set annual business plans, revenue targets, and key account priorities; refine execution to maximize performance.
- Own performance management (share and profitability tracking) and drive strategies to optimize results.
- Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to translate brand strategy into managed care/product portfolio strategies and promotional programs.
- Develop pricing and contracting strategies; lead contracting lifecycle (negotiation, approvals, execution, implementation).
- Drive access initiatives and pull-through programs; monitor channel/customer performance for incremental growth.
- Support product launches with accountability for access and market share achievement.
- Build cross-functional alignment (Sales, Marketing, Medical, Finance) and ensure seamless account management integration.
- Oversee external vendors and ensure delivery on time/in budget.
- Implement systems to track account activity, formulary access, and market share performance.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (marketing/health care/business administration or related); Master’s preferred.
- 15+ years progressively responsible experience in sales/marketing/managed markets, including 8+ years in managed care.
- 3+ years provider contracting/contract negotiations (commercial and public plans).
- 3+ years retail pharmacy experience.
- 6+ years in a leadership role.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in managed markets strategy, reimbursement, clinical coding/terminology, managed care and healthcare policy.
- Knowledge of standard managed contract language; strong managed care/trade/government/KOL relationships.
- Analytical, planning, and negotiation skills; account management software proficiency.
- Communicate effectively in English (verbal/written/presentations).
- Ability to travel overnight ~30%.
