Lifecycle Leader (LCL)
Responsibilities
- Shape the program’s cross-functional vision, strategic context, and Lifecycle Plan (LCP) for current and future business opportunities.
- Partner with the Program Manager and leadership/SMEs to establish internal ways of working for data-driven recommendations, decision-making, and communication.
- Serve as single point of accountability for timely delivery, managing execution plans and milestones aligned to the approved LCP.
- Oversee cross-stakeholder program integration to ensure execution aligns with program strategy and LCP.
- Drive alignment across sub-teams (e.g., Commercial, Development, Regulatory) to achieve team and corporate goals.
- Triage high-impact issues by incorporating cross-functional input; co-create solutions in real time.
- Frame program needs and develop options/recommendations for Executive Leadership Team (ELT), communicating scenarios, assumptions, risks, and trade-offs.
- Ensure SMEs and situational members are included in discussions using a predefined agenda.
- Accountable to ELT for program recommendations within the broader portfolio context.
- Accountable for day-to-day program management to keep high-impact deliverables on track.
- Maintain team health and a collaborative environment that encourages debate and honest feedback.
- Support risk identification/mitigation, financial stewardship, organization-wide communication of milestones/deliverables/progress, and appropriate function resourcing.
Additional responsibilities
- Support disease area strategy and execution of business plans with deliverables and resource needs; leverage external opportunities with Business Development and academic experts.
- Advocate for the organization and communicate scientific/medical/clinical concepts in written and oral formats to internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications / Education / Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline; advanced/professional degree desirable (PhD, MD, MBA).
- 15+ years bio-pharmaceutical industry experience, including 5+ years in biotech/pharmaceutical as a Lifecycle Leader or Program Team Leader.
- Strong knowledge of the drug development process; commercial launch experience and depth of drug development experience.
- Experience working with or on program strategy teams.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Strong leadership of cross-functional matrix teams; collaborative with a track record of resolving conflicts.
- Clear communication with clinical scientists, biologists, manufacturing experts, and regulatory/commercial colleagues.
- Strong organizational awareness; understanding of change management and innovation.
- Broad and deep experience across drug development phases to provide immediate strategic value.
- Understanding of what it takes to shepherd an asset through its lifecycle.
