Position Summary
Senior scientific leader to combine immunology and cardiovascular disease drug discovery expertise to contribute to departmental leadership, portfolio evolution, and strategy.

Position Responsibilities
- Lead highly complex, multidisciplinary projects with external organizations.
- Serve as an influential authority and subject-matter expert in immunology/cardiovascular drug discovery and development.
- Champion drug discovery programs aligned to strategic research goals; recommend expansion/curtailment based on results.
- Deliver results impacting company performance strategically/financially/operationally.
- Identify, initiate, and lead strategic collaborations (internal/external) to drive long-term value.
- Develop programs to systematically identify/validate novel targets and advance drug discovery in immunology and cardiovascular disease.
- Combine cutting-edge technologies, discovery approaches, and therapeutic-area expertise to develop new programs.
- Participate in and help lead external collaborations (academic/biotech) to progress target and drug discovery efforts.
- Coach/mentor teams; publish and present; maintain high scientific literature contributions.

Qualifications & Experience
Basic:
- Master’s degree + 20+ years academic/industry experience, OR Ph.D. (or equivalent life sciences) + 15+ years academic/industry experience.
- 10+ years leadership experience preferred.
Preferred:
- PhD and 15+ years (ideally industry); 10+ years leadership.
- Demonstrated success in immunology and/or cardiovascular drug discovery; target validation; high-throughput biology; drug discovery.
- Broad immunology/cardiovascular biology knowledge; ability to rapidly learn new disease areas.
- Experience leading diverse programs and cross-functional teams; strong communication and matrix leadership skills.

Compensation & Benefits
- $283,310–$343,309 (base); additional incentive cash/stock may be available.
