Role Summary
Executive Director, Global Project Leader - Hematology Oncology. Lead the development and execution of product strategy for one or more hematology/oncology projects, providing strategic leadership, cross-functional coordination, and accountability for execution, progress, and governance.
Responsibilities
- Leads product development teams responsible for novel Hematology Oncology therapies from preclinical lead optimization and candidate selection through Clinical Phase 1, 2, and 3 investment decisions and delivery of these studies; lead all regulatory submissions; accountable for strategy and execution of a portfolio of pre-clinical and clinical-stage therapies.
- Accountable for the delivery of projects according to quality, time, budgets, and resources.
- Build strategic and coordinated product development plans aligned with business objectives and differentiated from competitors.
- Execute the coordinated product plan to the agreed scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Lead and communicate the project development strategy at governance meetings; align with internal management and external collaborators.
- Responsible for all aspects of project strategy including preclinical, translational, clinical development, patient selection, regulatory, pediatric, intellectual property, CMC, and Asian development strategy.
- Development of the Target Product Profile, ensuring alignment with disease area strategy and late-stage development.
- Lead the Global Project Team (GPT) to manage/mitigate/communicate risk, make decisions, and handle conflict and change.
- Maintain a high degree of GPT effectiveness through collaboration, influence, and coaching/mentoring of cross-functional team members.
- Ensure robust processes, plans, and data to enable Governance Bodies to make investment decisions and prioritize projects across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- MD or PhD with minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
- Experience in drug development including early and late phase development and regulatory knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of Hematology-Oncology therapeutic area with diverse mechanisms and modalities.
- Broad understanding of evolving clinical landscape in hematology/oncology; experience in planning, execution, and submission of pivotal studies.
- Ownership of overall development of project strategy; accountable for plans, timelines, progress, and outcomes.
- Proven experience leading and motivating teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Record of cultivating and leading internal and external cross-functional collaborations.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
- Proven success in influencing colleagues and senior leaders across departments.
