Role Summary
Executive Director, GCO Franchise Head responsible for strategic operational planning and clinical operational performance to deliver in the designated Franchise(s)-therapeutic area(s) or asset(s), with leadership over the Global Clinical Program Lead (GCPL) and Global Clinical Study Manager (gCSM) groups. Acts as a senior representative for the franchise in BeOne's GCO P&SM and collaborates across franchises to shape strategy, drive execution, and ensure operational excellence in clinical development, particularly for Breast and Women's Cancers.
Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership and management
- Build, develop and retain the global GCPL/gCSM team, including hiring, mentoring, performance appraisals and resource management
- Oversee delivery of programs within the designated Franchise(s)-therapeutic area(s) or asset(s) and escalate issues GCPLs cannot resolve
- Collaborate with other Franchise Heads to define strategies, priorities, and global standards for goals, KPIs, and capability development for GCPL/gCSM roles
- Contribute to the strategy shaping within P&SM and streamline processes across franchises
- Represent the designated Franchise(s)-therapeutic area(s) or asset(s) to governance bodies as appropriate
- Provide clinical operational insight to drive Therapeutic/Asset strategy and ensure execution excellence
- Lead or participate in KOL engagement activities and act as function spokesperson as needed
- Program Management: evaluate feasibility and budget estimates; manage resource allocation and CST formation; transition outputs from Early Planning to gCSM
- Manage annual budgets and DCT goals; maintain key documents (IB, DSUR, protocol)
- Provide guidance for CST and ensure timely, quality study planning and execution
- Conduct regular program review meetings; monitor budgets, timelines, and KPIs with Compliance support
- Collaborate with GCPLs to select vendors and participate in vendor governance
- Develop performance and development plans for direct reports; provide line management and mentorship
- Foster scientific knowledge within Clinical Operations and promote a global, collaborative mindset
- Maintain deep knowledge of ICH/GCP and regulatory requirements; be point of escalation for program issues
- Identify and drive process improvements with Franchise Heads and GCPLs
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enable effective delivery of clinical development goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline
- 14+ years in the clinical trial industry
- Project and program management experience across multi-region/country trials in a global environment
- 5+ years of leadership and people management experience, including 3+ years at senior-manager level; 2nd line management experience preferred
- Experience in Breast and Women's cancers preferred
