Executive Director, Franchise Marketing Head Rare Disease & Cardiometabolic CBU

The Executive Director, Franchise Marketing Head Rare Disease & Cardiometabolic CBU, is responsible for spearheading the strategic, commercial, and tactical planning and execution for all current products and future products within the Rare Disease and Cardiometabolic portfolio. This role involves leading HCP, Consumer, and Scientific marketing teams, understanding the evolving competitive landscape, aligning with broader franchise strategies, and customizing approaches for a diverse set of healthcare providers and the patients they treat. The Executive Director, Franchise Marketing Head will report to the Executive Director, Rare Disease and Cardiometabolic CBU Head.

We believe you should have a broad range of experience across marketing positions (i.e., HCP, consumer, and scientific marketing) driving initiatives for products at varying stages of lifecycle development. This position requires the ability to effectively lead marketing teams in developing, monitoring and completing account plans in line with broader franchise strategies; and working with cross-functional partners in a collaborative and productive manner.

A Typical Day May Include The Following

  • Provide strategic oversight to marketing teams developing HCP- and patient-focused educational materials, presentations, and digital marketing campaigns
  • Oversee brand planning teams and facilitate quarterly business / brand reviews to evaluate key performance indicators and evaluate critical success factors across product portfolio
  • Monitor marketing budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and align with return on investment expectations
  • Work with New Products commercial team to provide strategic input and ensure seamless product transition from New Products to in-line Commercial Business Unit
  • Provide strategic oversight to teams defining go-to-market strategies, competitive positioning, and launch planning activities
  • Lead development of ad hoc senior management presentations for budget and headcount requests
  • Foster strong partnerships with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, HEOR, Market Access, Market Research, Regulatory, Legal, and other functions in developing HCP and Consumer strategy, tactics, and resources
  • Partner with the Market Access Team to support reimbursement policy evaluation and action
  • Work with Finance to monitor spending against budget/forecast and report performance results as requested; manage all projects and responsibilities to agreed-upon project timelines, budgets, and scope
  • Mentor junior marketing team members, providing guidance on critical thinking, leadership, and execution
  • Manage and provide growth opportunities for direct reports
  • Participate in hiring processes to build a high-performing marketing team for future in-line products

This individual must demonstrate exceptional collaborative skills that create positive impact on performance and business objectives.

  • Proven track record with developing and implementing brand strategies that align with franchise goals
  • Extensive experience in developing go-to-market strategies, competitive positioning, and launch readiness
  • Prioritize cohesive messaging and strategic alignment through collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, clinical development, medical affairs, trade and distribution, pricing and contracting, market access and reimbursement, and regulatory teams
  • Proactively monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform marketing strategies
  • Deep understanding of strategic nuances involved in rare disease commercialization especially related to generating and characterizing leads, developing targeted initiatives, and measuring performance of initiatives to pivot strategies in a timely and efficient manner
  • Creative / innovative problem solver with a thorough knowledge of the legal / regulatory environment and requirements with engagement
  • Strong organization / coordination capabilities and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical perspective with the ability to analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and adjust as needed

To be considered, we are seeking 17+ years of progressive pharmaceutical sponsor side experience along with 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech marketing, product management. It is expected to have Rare disease experience and to have Brand lead, HCP marketing, and consumer marketing experience required. Lastly, we require you to be in the Sleepy Hollow, NY office 4 days a week.

Salary Range (annually)

$251,200.00 - $418,600.00
