Role Summary

Executive Director, Corporate Strategy leading key strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects across the enterprise, reporting to the EVP, Corporate Strategy. Responsible for executing a diverse set of projects and analyses to drive business decisions and strategic initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Leading key strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects as part of the overall enterprise-level effort. Ability to articulate strategic plans and decisions to all levels of the organization, fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Decision Making: Accountable for rapid and effective decisions aligned with strategic initiatives; communicate rationale behind choices.
  • Market Research: Analyze and synthesize market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic direction.
  • Collaboration: Build strong collaborative relationships across enterprise functions and leadership; prepare for senior management reviews and deliver strategy presentations to senior leadership and governance teams.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee operational aspects of strategy implementation, coordinating with staff to ensure plans are executed efficiently.
  • Risk Management: Assess risks associated with strategic decisions; partner with ERM to identify and address risks through strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors required; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience; including 2+ years in strategic planning, strategy development or related area (e.g., strategy consulting)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to structure business problems, interpret data, and identify insights; leverage matrix partners
  • Proven track record of driving performance within a matrix organization
  • Ability to prioritize work with autonomy, balance multiple major initiatives, and drive results with speed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with senior level executives
