Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for a publicly traded company, including month/quarter/year-end close and SEC/statutory reporting.
- Oversee revenue recognition (ASC 606), gross-to-net accounting, and government pricing calculations.
- Manage general ledger, COGS, clinical trial accruals, payroll, travel & expense, and accounts payable.
- Partner with supply chain for accurate COGS reporting and inventory valuation.
- Collaborate with R&D FP&A to ensure accurate, timely accruals for clinical studies and R&D.
- Maintain and create global US GAAP accounting policies and position papers; ensure compliance through processes, systems, and controls.
- Collaborate with technical accounting on complex transactions and policy operationalization.
- Lead external auditor engagement (annual audits, quarterly reviews, internal controls testing) and ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively.
- Own and evolve accounting systems (ERP and adjacent systems); work with IT on a systems roadmap to scale.
- Identify automation opportunities and lead system implementations to streamline reporting and controls.
- Coordinate with FP&A, International Finance, and Tax to reconcile US GAAP vs management reporting results; assist with budgets/forecasts.
- Partner with HR for payroll processing and controls; manage treasury/cash, banking relationships, and risk programs.
- Develop staff, including hiring/training and succession planning.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or related).
- CPA required.
- 18+ years finance/accounting experience; 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong GAAP/financial reporting knowledge and SOX application experience.
- Biotech/life sciences experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with financial software (e.g., NetSuite) and systems implementations preferred.

Benefits:
- Base salary estimate: $274,000–$335,000/year; equity; flexible paid time off; medical/dental/vision; life/disability; 401(k) match; supplemental life, legal services, and mental health benefits via EAP.
